Shiwa Ng'andu is a magnificent colonial country estate established in the 1920's. It takes its name from a lake in the centre of the reserve called Lake Ishiba which, in Bemba, the local language, means "Lake of the Royal Crocodiles."

The reserve covers an area of twenty three thousand acres which is fully fenced and is the main base of operations of Shiwa Hunting Expeditions. In 2003 the SCI World record for Blue Duiker was set at Shiwa and is still held today. Shiwa also prides itself on its excellent trophy grade Sitatunga. Hunters and observers are accommodated in the magnificent Shiwa Manor House at the heart of the estate.

Nestling up against a spectacular waterfall, the Mukungule Hunting camp is a simple, rustic grass and reed mat bushcamp deep in the pristine Mopane and Miombo wodlands of the North Luangwa GMA. Accommodation is en-suite and electricity is provided by a solar/generator system. Mukungule provides an unparalleled hunting experience and provides clients with an opportunity to take trophy quality Buffalo and Eland.

The Bangwelu is a vast area of outstanding natural beauty and is a 40 minuite charter flight from the Shiwa airfield. Safaris here are based at a wonderful bushcamp on the edge of the vast grassy floodplains of the swamps fringed by savannah woodland. Accommodation comprises of comfortable but rustic chalets constructed with grass and reed matting with en-suite ablutions and hot and cold showers. The Bangwelu is an exceptional area for Black Lechwe and Tsessebe.

The Chifunda Game management area is a superb hunting location for Buffalo, Lion, Leopard and other large game species. Accommodation at the Chifunda camp is comprised of en-suite grass and reed mat chalets with superb views across the river. The camp is powered by both solar and generator systems.
